Ekwador a więc państwo,
którego odwiedzenia początkowo nie mieliśmy w planach. A szkoda.
Bo naprawdę warto. Zaryzykowałabym
nawet stwierdzenie, że wizyta jedynie w tym jednym kraju da Wam przekrój tego,
co w Ameryce Południowej zobaczyć można. Bo kraj maleńki a
spotkacie tu wszystkie południowoamerykańskie krajobrazy – piękne
wybrzeże, wysokie Andy, wulkany, jeziora, dżungla... Do tego
jesteście w kraju położonym na równiku i odwiedzić możecie miejsce zwane Środkiem Świata (Mitad del Mundo). A i Ekwadorczycy przyjaznymi ludźmi są. Czegóż
chcieć więcej? Ale od początku.
English version at the bottom.
Lissette miała mniej szczęścia (o czym dowiedzieliśmy się
kolejnego dnia) – jej przyjaciel za jazdę po alkoholu zamknięty
został w więzieniu a ona spędziła noc u nieznajomego, podpitego i
zalecającego się do niej kolesia. Jakby tego było mało następnego
dnia musiała wraz z przyjacielem raczej bocznymi uliczkami
przechadzać się o ile ten postanowił w nocy z więzenia uciec.
Takie ot przygody w pięknym i pięknie położonym mieście Cuenca.
wspaniali ci Ekwadorczycy? :)
-------------------------
Ecuador originally wasn't on our list
of countries we planed to visit. Our bad as the country is really worth
seeing it. That country may be even called little South America as
you can meet here almost every type of nature – cost, jungle, Andes.
Not even mentioning that you are in the Middle of the World! And
people are so friendly here... Can you imagine more perfect country
to visit?
So our visiting Ecuador we started in
Guayaquil – noisy, hot and not so welcoming city. But there were
positives staying here 4 days. First of all Park full of iguanas –
as a real admirer of animals I couldn't be more delight with passing
it. Secondly, in Chinese consulate here we were able to get very
easily our visa. Well, at least receiving them was easy. Night spent
on buying fly tickets which resulted with blocked payment card wasn't
easy. But finally we get it! Yeah, we're going to Asia. I will
probably die during nineteen hours fly from Mexico to Shanghai...
And last but not least we spent time in Guayaquil with Lissette and her
lovely mum. They are starting our list with great Ecuadorians we've so
far met.
With Lissette we went to beautiful city of
Cuenca where each of us had night adventure. Me and Matej landed in a dark
street with no presence of our couchsurfer host. Fortunately we were
able to sent message to Juan (also from cs) who, noticed last minute,
instructed us how to get to his place and later introduced us to night life of Cuenca. Thank you for that! Less luck had Lissette whose
friend was arrested and she spent night with not so polite stranger.
Next day when we've met she was again with friend...who decided to
escape from prison and they were both kind of hiding from police. Yeah, life in
Cuenca must be amazing. We walked a little bit of its streets and,
amazed, went north-east as the west cost didn't seem to be any
different from others we saw and Galapagos trip was far away from our
budget.
So we decided to hitchhike and from the
very beginning we were impressed as most of the people we've met
spoke English and we were not forced to hurt anymore language of
Cervantes. Crossing mountains we've arrived to small village Rio
Blanco, near city of Macas. We were again in the jungle. And again
with lovely family. This time it was couple of psychotherapists Natali
and Hugo who decided to move from capital and start here their
project of alternative school for children and creating community not
based on exchanging money but products. With them, their children, Argentinian volunteer and (for one night) two Mexican girls we
talked, laughed and cooked spending precious moments we will not
forget. It was really difficult to say goodbye and go for our next
couchsurfer in Puyo...
But the same situation repeated there.
Leslie appeared to be very positive girl with big smile always on her
face. Very special also, as she's planning her life very carefully and
in opposite to plans other girls here have – studies, travels and
then family. So far she just started her adventure with cs and is very
generous with sharing her family house, food and stories. She took us
for small trips to small house her family has in the jungle, to the
waterfalls, she introduced us to local delicious food and accompanied
us to the village with indigenous community in Misahualli. Not even
mentioning her bargain skills!
Ecuadorians, aren't they amazing?
